An Inglorious weekend at the box office
Quentin Tarrantino’s Nazi-revenge fantasy, Inglorious Bastards, topped the weekend box office with $37.6 million in a down weekend at the box office. Last week’s sci-fi thriller, District 9, took second with only $18.9 million to show for it. GI Joe drew $12.5 million while Time Traveler’s Wife took in about $10.0 million even, making those four the only movies to break the $10 million barrier.
The animated feature, Shorts, fell flat in its debut, raking in only $6.6 million. Of course, many industrial products make more than that on Saturday hardware store sales alone. So there you have it. With Final Destination and Rob Zombie’s Halloween 2 remake topping the bill, it’ll be interested to see which slasher film finishes on top, and how other fare will fare.
